TREADMILL Aluminium Print
Ai Weiwei
Limited Edition

Treadmill Aluminium is a limited edition print on a glossy aluminium, 1mm thick, with the dimensions of 18x12cm. Available in two versions:

500 exemplars Aluminium Print and 500 exemplars of Aluminium Print Inverted, numbered and hand-signed by Ai Weiwei.
This Ai Weiwei’s work has been created in defense of freedom of speech and human rights and is dedicated to Julian Assange, journalist and founder of Wikileaks, now under risk extradition to the United States for the crime of journalism.
Assange before entering in Belmarsh, the maximum security prison in London, UK, sent his treadmill to Ai Weiwei. This treadmill was the tool that Julian Assange used in order to move within confinement in the Ecuadorian Embassy, where he was taken refuge.
As Ai Weiwei said: “Assange truly represents a core value of why we are free: It’s because we have freedom of speech and a free press. His imprisonment marks the collapse of a free and civilized society.”
Julian Assange is still detained in Belmarsh.
He could face up to 175 years in jail if extradited in the US.
