Somers John Summers (ca. 1874 – 1905).
Giornalista, nato in Scozia verso il 1874, lavorò per le testate di Alfred Harmsworth. Su di lui le notizie biografiche sono scarse. Fu redattore di riviste d’avventure per ragazzi: Pluck, Halfpenny Marvel e Union Jack Library, quest’ultime due famose per aver diffuso le avventure poliziesche di Sexton Blake “the poor man’s Sherlock Holmes”, personaggio creato da Harry Blyth che ebbe successo per quasi sessant’anni. Summers divenne membro dell’ Institute of Journalists nel 1896, e tra il ‘96 e il ’98 fu impiegato al Daily Mail. If London Were Like Venice compare nel Harmsworth Magazine, vol. 1, N. 3. 1899-1900. È sepolto nel cimitero di Abney Park, nel quartiere londinese di Hackney.
