Dino Campana (Marradi 1885 – Castel Pulci, Firenze, 1932), il poeta matto di Marradi, è una delle figure più controverse e incomprese della letteratura italiana del Novecento. Il progetto Futura Memoria nasce da una collaborazione tra Beit Venezia – Casa della cultura ebraica e l’artista visiva Sara Lando in occasione del Giorno della Memoria 2022.
Questo lavoro si interroga su cosa significhi tramandare un ricordo e ricostruire la memoria di un avvenimento legato alla Shoah, mantenendo la narrazione viva e tramandandola.
L’artista si è focalizzata su un libro di ricette appartenuto a una famiglia di ebrei italiani deportati ad Auschwitz e tornato in mano agli eredi solo grazie a una serie di circostanze fortuite. Ha raccontato quindi la storia della famiglia e del libro, rendendo consultabili le ricette e invitando dei volontari a riprodurle. In questo modo ha creato un momento per ripensare alle vicende storiche e umane che si intrecciano intorno al libro, oltre all’occasione per avvicinarsi a quella quotidianità che faceva parte della vita delle persone prima che venissero deportate.

This limited edition print embodies the defense of the freedom of press.

Ai Weiwei designed a postcard in early 2021 to submit to Firstsite’ project “The Great Big Art Exhibition”, and the work was turned down. The image of the postcard is a treadmill, the object sent to Ai Weiwei by Julian Assange when he was taking refuge in the Embassy of Ecuador in London. He was later forcefully taken by the British authorities in April 2019 and is still incarcerated in the UK.

The concept originated from “Yours Truly”, a postcard writing component of the exhibition @Large: Ai Weiwei on Alcatraz in 2014. Visitors were invited to compose messages of hope to political prisoners whose plight was highlighted in the exhibition.

In 2022 Ai Weiwei started a campaign #RunForOurRights #treadmill by making a video of himself running on the treadmill and encouraging everyone to upload their videos with the hashtags in defense of freedom of press and human rights.

Scott Davison’s poetry, short stories, translations, and other works have appeared in numerous publications throughout the years. He has co-written several musicals, and his plays have been produced in Los Angeles. His short play The Sadness of Wine is dedicated to Cesare Pavese. He currently teaches in an internationally renowned school for the performing and visual arts.
